The Punta Umbria Fair is usually held in August in honour of the Virgen del Carmen. It usually lasts five days and is located in the La Ria Fairground, which has more than ten casetas (highly decorated type of marquee) belonging to associations and individuals. There is also a stage where important national musicians give free concerts.

In the afternoon of the last day of the fair, there is a procession of the Virgen del Carmen, patron saint of sailors. This carved wooden statue, which is housed in the Church of Lourdes, is taken in a boat to cross the estuary of the town. In the evening, the fair ends with fireworks display.
